Back in those days of the 'seventies, there was just this sort of general acceptance that a diversification had been going on. What did it really mean for Australianness and Australian life, and when you thought of traditional symbols of Australia and all that sort of thing? And yet we had seen a push in a particular way that came through the Whitlam government and particularly, of course, Al Grassby.
